Prologue

Chiba + Manza: Please! {Chiba is the captain with the arm in the sling, captions say the other girl is 万座, dictionary says Manza, so I'm going with that for now. --K}

Rikka: Wai-
Wait just a minute here!

No! Definitely no!

Mana: But you haven't even heard what they're asking yet.

Rikka: You're asking Mana to sub for you in your next game, am I right?

Chiba: How'd you know?

Rikka: It's obvious when you look at that arm of yours.
Softball team captain, Chiba-senpai.
You're busy with both Precure and Student Council work, you can't just casually accept their request.

Mana: But they look like they're in real trouble.

Manza: That's right!
Our next game is a qualifier, so it's a very important game.

Chiba + Manza: Please!

Mana: Okay, you can count on me.

Chiba: Thank you!

Manza: We'd better hurry up and make arrangements.

Rikka: Wait a second, Mana!

Chiba: You just need to learn a few hand signs. {I think they're talking about hand signs the catcher and infielders use. --K}

Other girl: Don't worry, they're easy.

Rikka: Oh, come on!

Part 1

Title: Awaken! A New Precure Power!

Manza: Sh-She's fast!

Chiba: She's not just fast.
She can throw breakers, too. {Okay, original line I had here was, "She can handle multiple ball weights too." However, I don't think that's quite right. The Japanese is 「あの子の球には重さも兼ね備わっている」, and thinking about baseball/softball, I think they're talking about different types of pitches when talking about 重さ (weight) here, instead of the actual weight of the ball, which I believe is standardized and doesn't vary outside of a certain margin. Hence the choice of translation of "She can throw breakers, too." The term "breaking ball" (which "breaker" is short for here) is a general term for any kind of a pitch that doesn't come straight at the batter like a fastball does, so this covers a wide range of other pitches. --K}

Manza: Why hasn't she been recruited?

Chiba: I've invited her to join! But, well...

Mana: What's wrong?

Batter: The shoelaces broke on my cleats.

Mana: I've got some spare ones. I'll lend them to you.

Batter: Thanks, Prez!

Chiba: She much prefers helping out others to joining clubs.

Manza: I see.

Pigtailed player: Kyouda!
Stop staring off into space and practice with us.

Kyouda: Sure!

High twintails: I wonder if the Prez is gonna join our team.
She's kind and cool.

Kyouda: Yeah, pitching is easy for her.

High twintails: You're going to be an ace pitcher too here soon.
Are you getting your arm ready?

Kyouda: No, I'm not quite- ack!
Sorry, but could you please throw that over here?
Thank you very much!

Mana: I'm home!

Rikka + Alice: Welcome home.

Mana: Huh? Why'd I get left out? {Alternatively: "Huh? Why'd you ditch me?", but I'm not quite sure that fits. --K}

Rikka: You were busy with practice, weren't you?

Mana: Oh, right.

Alice: I heard you were scouted by the softball team, Mana-chan, is that right?

Mana: Yeah.
They were very insistent.

Rikka: The Happy Prince is weak to pleading, isn't she? {Using "she" because "Happy Prince" is referring to Mana here, not an actual prince or the prince in the story --K}

Alice: When's the game?

Mana: This Sunday, at our school's field.

Alice: I'll be sure to come cheer you on.

Rikka: They must be a novice team if they're putting in an outside substitute as a starter, though.

Mana: Are you mad?{U MAD BRO^H^H^H SIS?}

Rikka: No, not really...
I just had to do both my own and Mana's share of cleaning up litter on the school grounds.
As well as hold a meeting about the wind ensemble's upcoming lecture.
Not to mention doing a check on the latest PR copy.
So no, I'm not mad at alllll.

Mana: That's why I can count on you, Rika-sama! Love ya! {Yes, I picked the "Love ya!" wording on purpose, feeling that it fits the "I'm trying to suck up to the friend I annoyed and who covered for me," vibe better than just "I love you!" --K}

Rikka: Makopi's angry too, you know.
As we haven't made any progress on finding the Princess.

Makoto: I'm not really angry, but...

Mana: But?

Makoto: It's kind of odd to me.
They just asked for a helping hand.
Why do you throw yourself so seriously into it?

Mana: I always run on the full power principle!
Doesn't it make you happy when everyone can rely on you to help them out?

Makoto: Is being someone everyone can rely on really that fun?

DB: You're talking about Cure Heart?

Makoto: Yeah.

DB: Well, in the Trump Kingdom, didn't you sing for everyone else?
Didn't that bring you joy?

Makoto: I really don't know.

DB: How about we go cheer her on then?
It might give you just the inspiration you need.

Makoto: You may be right.

{And now it's time once again, for "Angry Bowling", with special guest, Bel!}

Bel: {\i1}Cure Heart!
{\i1}I will repay you for every ounce of my suffering.

Ira: What's the deal, old man?
You're not usually this angry. {More literally: "You're way too angry." The connotation though is that he's uncharacteristically angry. --K}

Mammo: "Don't bother a god, and he won't curse you," as they say.
Just let him be.

Mana: Okay, that's done.

Kyouda: What are you doing, Senpai?

Mana: Everyone's uniforms were dirty, so I washed them.

Kyouda: The first years take care of odd jobs like that, though.

Low twintails: You're a substitute, though.

Ponytail: Please give practice your full attention instead.

Mana: If I'm the only one pushing myself, the team as a whole won't get any stronger.
So the regulars can lead us to victory, we each need to work together on our team-building skills.
That kind of passion is sure to make the whole team stronger.
You can't hold back just because you're first years.

First years: Yes, ma'am! {Sorry, the way they responded just made this seem the best TL --K}

Mana: If you're following what I'm saying, then go get changed now.
We're going to go running.

First years: Yes, ma'am!

Manza: They're all fired up, I see.

Chiba: Yeah, the substitute's to thank for that.
Tomorrow's match looks to be tons of fun.

Manza: Yeah.

Kyouda: Prez!
Thanks for your hard work today!

Mana: You too!
Let's kick butt at the game tomorrow!

First years: Yes, ma'am!

Joe: As popular as always, I see.

Ai-chan: Ai!

Mana: Oh hey, mister. And Ai-chan, too!
It's a rare sight to see you around here. {Originally went with "pleasant surprise" instead of "rare sight", but it didn't quite fit as well with Joe's line below. --K}

Ai-chan: Ai!

Joe: I ran out of powdered milk, so we're out doing a little shopping.
Also, aren't you a rare sight as well? Returning home from school in your sweats like that?

Mana: Ah well, about that...

Joe: You're going to be playing in a softball game?

Mana: Yeah, I'm going to be the pitcher.

Joe: I see.
Well then, I guess Ai-chan and I should probably come to cheer you on.

Mana: Please do!

Joe: Oh, yeah!
I'll give you a good luck charm to ensure the Goddess of Victory smiles upon you.

Mana: No, that's fine.

Joe: I won't take no for an answer.
Ah, hang on a sec-

Ai-chan: Ai!

Joe: Oh brother.
Well, since you like it so much, I'll give it to you.

Ai-chan: Kewpie!

Mana: Isn't that awesome, Ai-chan?

Ai-chan: Ai! Ai!

Bel: Sorry to butt in like this.
Aida Mana-san...
Or rather, Cure Heart!

Mana: You!

Cheryl: Be careful, Mana!

Mana: {\i1}I know, but I can't transform like this.

Bel: I want to face off with you.

Mana: No thanks, I don't have any reason to fight with you.

Bel: You saw what happened in the Trump Kingdom with your own eyes, and yet you're spouting off such nonsense now?

Mana: I saw it, yes.
But we beat you and returned from there, didn't we?

Bel: I have no interest in arguing about my so-called "defeat".
What's wrong? Hurry up and transform into a Precure already.
Defeating you before you've transformed won't bring me closure!

Joe: Look out!

Mana: Mister!
Mister!

Ai-chan: Kewpie!

Bel: Hmmph, needless heroism. {Wanted to do "Boy Scout!" here, but Mana just had to go ruin it with her next line, w --K}

Mana: It wasn't needless!
Wanting to protect someone...
Wanting to exhaust yourself someone else's sake...
Don't you understand those feelings?

Bel: Shaddup!

Mana: Ai-chan!

Ai-chan: Kewpie!

Mana: Ai-chan!

Bel: If you want her back, come to the Yotsuba Terminal at 8 AM tomorrow morning.
But come alone.
If you bring your comrades...

Mana: No!
Ai-chan... Ai-chan!

{eyecatch}

Part 2

Male spectator: What's going on?
Female spectator: The game still hasn't started?

Alice: Good day to you.

Rikka: Alice...

Alice: Oh, the game still has not started?

Makoto: Yeah, about that...

Chiba: She's late! What's the Prez doing?!

Manza: I tried calling her home, but it seems she's already left.

Chiba: Geez, where'd she stop by on the way?

Sign: Ohgai Hospital

Joe: I've got to do something...
You can't go, My Sweet Heart! It's a trap!{Switched the order of these two sentences, as that seemed to flow better. --K}

Bel: You came alone as promised. You've got guts.

Mana: Where's Ai-chan?!
Ai-chan!

Bel: As promised, I'll give her back.
That is, if you can beat me.

Mana: Let's go, Cheryl!

Cheryl: Cheryl!

Mana: Precure Love Link!

Cheryl: L O V E

Cure Heart: You extremely selfish old man...
I, Cure Heart, will recover Ai-chan from you!

Bel: Good for you.

Rikka: Well? Have you been able to reach Cheryl?

Raquel: We keep calling her.

Lance: But she's not answering.

Chiba: I'm begging you. Please wait just a little longer.

Umpire: Even so, if you can't field a full team, you're going to lose by forfeit.

Chiba: No...

Softball player: No way. With out the Prez...

Catcher: we can't possibly win.

Makoto: {\i1}Recovering from such a setback isn't impossible.
{\i1}It's just that the one person you relied on the most suddenly disappeared.

Kyouda: Captain!
Let me pitch!

Chiba: Kyouda?

Kyouda: The Prez taught us something.
If we all work together, we can overcome any obstacle.

Low twintails: I'm sure there's some good reason why the Prez couldn't make it.

Ponytail: Let's play hard in her place!

Chiba: Okay. Let's give it our all!

Manza: Yeah.

Kyouda: Thank you very much!

Umpire: Play ball!

Sebastian: Milady.

Alice: Hmm?

Umpire: Strike!

Bel: What's wrong? Are you out of breath {\i1}already{\i0}?

Cheryl: It really was a trap, after all!

Cure Heart: You coward!

Bel: That's the highest complement you could bestow on a Selfishe.

Cheryl: Look out!

Cure Diamond: Sparkle for me, Twinkle Diamond!

Bel: What?!

Cure Heart: Girls, how'd you find me?

Cure Rosetta: I had Sebastian look for you.
It doesn't matter how great a player you are, you can't win on your own.

Cure Diamond: We're a team, after all. You need to rely on us more.

Cure Heart: Girls...

Cure Sword: The softball team's all doing their best to cover for you.
So we've got to do our best here.

Cure Heart: They're all giving their best...
Yeah!
Let's go!

Diamond + Rosetta + Sword: Right!

{Roll call!}

Cure Heart: Abundant love, Cure Heart!

Cure Diamond: The light of wisdom, Cure Diamond!

Cure Rosetta: Shining in the sun's warm embrace, Cure Rosetta!

Cure Sword: The courageous blade, Cure Sword!

All 4 Cures: Resonate, our heartbeat of love!
DokiDoki Precure!

Bel: I haven't shown my full hand yet.

Cure Heart: That's a...

Cure Sword: Dark Psyche!

Bel: Offer up your darkness to me! {Other ideas I considered instead of "Offer up" were "Consecrate" and "Sacrifice", but I think Offer up probably works the best. Looks like this will probably be a new set phrase to add to the style guide once we have it nailed down. --K}

Cure Diamon: You've got to be kidding me.

Cure Heart: What's happening?

Bel Beast: I've powered up by absorbing the Selfishe's power!
This is my Bel Beast form!

Cure Diamond: Uhhh...

Cure Sword: That's...

Cure Rosetta: How do I put it....

Cure Heart: Subtle...

Bel Beast: If you judge only by appearance, you will have a painful experience. {見た目で判断すると痛い目を見るぞ It rhymes in the Japanese and I want it to rhyme in the English, too, dangit! xD This rhymes, but not sure if it flows well. --K}

Bel Beast: Say Cheese! {I like this better than the Engrish "Shutter chance!" --K}

Cure Heart: Cure Sword!

Bel Beast: Silent mode vibration!
You've got mail! {Fe-mail!}

Cure Diamond: He's strong!

Cure Heart: We can't give up!
Not until we've got Ai-chan back!
Let my feelings reach you! My Sweet Heart!

Cure Rosetta: She did it!

Bel Beast: Clap!
I told you not to judge by appearances.

Cure Heart: What are you doing?!

Bel Beast: I told you didn't I?
Come alone.
This is punishment for breaking that promise.

Cure Heart: Ai-chan's got nothing to do with this.
Stop!

Bel Beast: Good-bye baby!

Cure Heart: Stop!

Ai-chan: Kewpie?
Kewpietwump!

Bel Beast: Wh-What?!

Cure Sword: This light...

Cure Diamond: Lovies?

Cure Rosetta: A new power?

All 4 Cures: Love Heart Arrow!

Cure Heart: What's this?!

Cure Diamond: Let's try the Lovies with them.

Cure Heart: Yeah.

Bel Beast: Curse you! Eat this!

Cure Rosetta: Precure Rosetta Reflection!

Bel Beast: What?!

Cure Diamond: Precure Diamond Shower!

Cure Sword: Precure Sparkle Sword! {This one seems kinda tacked on to this combo --K}
Now, Cure Heart!

Cure Heart: Precure Heart Shoot! {The wink is surprising, but totally in-character, w. ( ´・‿-) ~ ♥ --K}

Driver: Huh? What was I...

Ai-chan: Kewpie!

Cure Sword: Thank goodness.

Cure Heart: Yeah!

Bel: So that baby called forth a miracle.
I won't forget this. {Dropped the クソッ here, as I'm sure Rika's going to have the same objection as previously to not using anything stronger than "crap" as a translation for this for Bel. ;) --K}

Cure Heart: Ai-chan, thank goodness you're safe. {The "you're safe" is implied in the Japanese, I just made it explicit in the English because that seemed to flow better. --K}

Cure Rosetta: Ai-chan...

Mana: How is it?

Rikka: It's the last inning.
We've got a one-run lead.

Alice: But the pressure's on with 2 outs and bases loaded.

Umpire: Ball!

Rikka: If the next pitch is a ball, that'll force a runner home. And if it's a hit, that'll turn the game around.

Mana: Hang in there, Kyouda-san!
I know you can do it!

Kyouda: Yeah!

Umpire: Strike! Batter out!
Game set!

Team: Yahoo!

Mana and co.: We won! Congrats!

Mana: Girls, I really can't apologize enough. But I'm really sorry.

Kyouda: I never though {\i1}you'd{\i0} fail to show up.

Mana: Sorry.

Kyouda: But because of that, we realized something.
Instead of just depending on one person, if each of us individually believe in ourselves and work together, we can overcome any obstacle!
You taught us that, Prez.
Thank you very much!

Ai-chan: Ai! Ai! Ai!

DB: "If we work together we can overcome any obstacle," hmm?
Those girls really took Mana's thoughts to heart.

Makoto: {\i1}I too want to fight together.
{\i1}Until the day we find the Princess.

<nounwrap>Alice: You have an apprentice?

Mana: Yeah, his name's Jun-kun!

He's a really hard worker.

Rikka: I'm worried.

Makoto: About what?

Rikka: I know there's lots of people who look up to Mana, but...

Alice: They really don't know how hard it is to keep up with her.

Makoto: Really? Exactly what does she *do* in a typical day?

{\i1}DokiDoki! Precure:
